Rosemary's 1st 7th Birthday Party

Here's some slides of our little party we had for Rosie last night.  I didn't get any pics of the cake but I did get evidence of Joey opening one of Rosie's gifts.  Rosemary was very gracious about it.

Happy Birthday Rosie!

Rosemary is 7 years old today!

First thing is a birthday party at school and then presents when she gets home!
(and Grammy called at 6:55am to sing to her!)

Artists' Birthdays

In case you haven't noticed yet, we've been posting the birthdays of artists as come. Keep an eye on how many birthdays are in July. There's almost an artist a day born in the month of July. Maybe there's something in the air that makes July babies extra talented...not that I'm implying anything.
Anyway, in some cases there are no accurate records of the artist's birth. I guess birth certificates were not common back in the 1400's. So while Botticelli's mom and dad must have been happy when he was born, no one else knew, or cared, who he was. By the time he died, of course, he was famous so we do have a record of their death. So in those cases, while I can't post their birthday, I will post their deathday. Hope that's not too morbid.

Happy Birthday Paul

Today is Sir Paul McCartney's 67th birthday!

Oops.

...been a little disctratced around here...
As I was posting Raphael's birthday on the 15th I was overlooking the birthday of another great artist. He was an inventor, a painter, an Italian, a Ninja Turtle, and, yes, another lefty:
Leonardo da Vinci.
Happy 557th birthday Leo.

Ninja Turtle #3

April 6th was Raphael's birthday. (Didn't catch that one while on Spring break)
Raphael painted The School of Athens and the very famous cherubs (featured in religious book stores across the country).
He was considered one of the greats and (surprise, surprise) he was a lefty!

Happy Birthday Michelangelo!

Today would have been Michelangelo's 534th birthday.  (They always die so young *sniff*)
He was a raving genius, a stubborn man, and (you guessed it) another leftie!!!

Happy birthday Mikey...and uh...get some clothes on those guys!

Happy Birthday Rosemary!

Rosemary is 6 years old today!
Happy birthday Rosie!
Six years ago today I looked at her and thought, "Now what?"
Six years later I'm still asking myself the same question.

Joey's First Birthday

Happy first birthday Joseph!

Can you tell he really loved his birthday cake?
How about the photo of the three generations of "Joe"? What handsome guys they are.
Great-Grandma can't hug her great-grandchildren enough.
Aunt Jeanna even drove from Virginia to
celebrate her nephew's first birthday.
Carmellina, Rosemary and Thomas took a few
moments to "jam".
We love you all!
Love,
Grandma and Papa

Campfires, Birthday's, and Comedic Polkas

We'll be on the road for a couple days and I can't guarantee any Internet access while I'm gone.
But we're going to see Weird Al Yankovic in Scranton on Wednesday, Thursday is my birthday, Friday is the Eventide release (geek stuff) Saturday is Jess's birthday and we're going camping until we come home Sunday night. This will be a pretty crazy couple of days!
I'll fill you all in when we get back.

In the mean time, here's a pretty funny video you can enjoy:

Who Lives In A Pineapple Under The Sea?

No, it's not Ariel at a luau, it's SpongeBob Squarepants!
And today is his birthday! According to his driver's licence which can be seen in both "Sleepy Time" and "No Free Rides" he was born on July 14th, 1986. That means he's 22 today!

You'd think by now he'd start acting his age...

Da-da Da-da Da-da You Say It's Your Birthday

Happy Birthday to one of my favorite Beatles, Ringo Starr.
He's 68 today!
  • Just a couple of random Ringo facts:
  • Ringo's real name is Richard Starkey (but you all knew that one already)
  • Ringo is the oldest and youngest member of the Beatles (first born, last to join)
  • Ringo (like Paul) is a lefty.
  • Ringo's son, Zak, received drum lessons from Keith Moon and was the drummer for the band Oasis (who sound exactly like the Beatles).
  • Ringo used to play in a band called "Rory and The Hurricanes"
  • Ringo's favorite color is red.

Happy Birthday Carmellina!

Today (Wednesday, April 9th) is Carmellina's 4th birthday (that makes her 48 months old for those you who are still counting). She enjoyed cupcakes at the womens' Bible study at the church and lunch at the Herches' house, dinner at Chik-fil-a and presents followed by ice cream for dessert.
Whew!

By the way, these videos are here especially for my Fallgren cousins to enjoy.

(...i'm in charge of the stars and i'm here to say...)

Better late than never.

Okay, so I've been a little behind this week. Nevertheless, here's a new post.

This past weekend we went back to New York (again) and celebrated my grandmother's 88th birthday. A number of us helped do a little spring-cleaning for her. We scraped radiators, stripped wallpaper, painted, washed and Lori even got hold of a tree service to remove some very large trees from her back yard. We then had a lovely birthday dinner consisting of too much pizza followed by too much cake.
It was a good day.
Now most of them will be back here in Philly for Carmellina's birthday party on Saturday.

And now...Hula Hoopin' Mama!

Busy Busy Busy

So this weekend our house was buzzing with people. First was Saturday, Mom's birthday. She's half of 114 years-old now! Wow. Twelve of us went out to Famous Dave's Barbeque and ate like pigs (well, some of us did, anyway).
Then on Sunday Joey was baptized. We had even more poeple over for lunch and a HUGE cake. It was a great weekend. Check out the slide shows on the right for the nearly 200 photos I took between the two days!

Oh...and then my Dad and I got really sick. Oh well.
